Dr. Victor B. Borden
Dr. Victor B. BordenSenior Pastor

Dr. Victor B. Borden was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. He enlisted on active duty in the U.S. Navy following high school, just as the Vietnam War was ending. As a teenager and young adult, like many of us, he lived a self-indulgent lifestyle. However, that all changed at the age of 20 when he first heard and listened to the saving message of Christ. It was in a U.S. Navy barracks, just outside of Washington, D.C., on May 25, 1977, that he turned from his sinful rebellion, and by faith, received Jesus Christ to be his personal Lord and Savior.

Shortly after coming to know Christ, Vic met Pam Holter (as she was also on active duty in the U.S. Navy where they were stationed). They were married for 37 years and God blessed them with four children: Adam (wife Rachel); Suzy (husband Wes Hurless); Betsy (husband Chris Brennan, and sons Beau and Caleb); and Priscilla. Though a sadness for all those here, but glory for Pam Borden and the Lord Almighty, she went home to be with the Lord in 2015.

In the providence of God’s timing and healing, Vic Borden met Cathie Gorzalski, a godly and contagiously energetic woman of faith. Vic and Cathie were married on June 18, 2017, and currently reside in Kansas City, MO. Together, they both faithfully serve this church and one another in the love that only comes by faith in Jesus Christ.

Dr. Borden earned an Associate of Science Degree in Biology from Longview Community College in Lee’s Summit, MO, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from Avila University in Kansas City, MO, and Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry Degrees from Luther Rice Seminary in Lithonia, GA.

Dr. Borden has been the President of the Luther Rice Seminary Alumni Association for Missouri, and served for six years as a member of the Executive Board of the Missouri Baptist Convention.  Currently he serves as a member on the Board of Trustees of Calvary University, President of the Board of Directors of Haiti Home of Hope, Inc., and for 17 years has been part of the team which answers Bible/theological questions through GotQuestions.org.

Dr. Borden became the Senior Pastor of Red Bridge Baptist Church [RBBC] in 1993. Prior to serving as Senior Pastor, he was RBBC’s Associate Pastor from 1986 to 1993. His pastoral ministry began at Bethany Baptist Church in Sedalia, Missouri in 1985.

Mark Saylor,  Director of Music Ministries
Diana Saylor,  Church Pianist

Mark Saylor and his wife Diana have been on the RBBC staff for over 30 years. Both have degrees in Music Education from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO, and Mark has a master’s degree in trombone performance from Wichita State University.

During their time in Wichita, Mark was a member of the Wichita Symphony Orchestra, and Diana began her career as a piano teacher. In the years following, Mark gained experience as a band and choir teacher in western Kansas, and K-5 music in Kansas City, while Diana continued to teach piano.

They both joined the staff in a part-time capacity in 1992. Serving God in leading the RBBC body in corporate worship is no small task and their dedication to bringing worship through music is a blessing to all.

Mark and Diana continue to develop musical excellence through the Highest Praise Choir and Orchestra and various groups to give RBBC musicians the opportunity to express their talents to the glory of God.

Mark is a computer systems engineer for Oracle, and Diana works for the University of Kansas Health System. Mark and Diana have four children, their spouses, and seven grandchildren.
